課程概述

Evaluation and treatment for each BADL and IADL skills including feeding, dressing, grooming, toileting, bathing, wheelchair mobility, bed mobility, transfers, functional communication, home management, transportation, leisure activity, etc, are discussed. Recommendation and/or fabrication of various assistive device as well as environmental evaluation and modification for different patient‘s condition are both included. Special topics relating to ADL such as bowel and bladder dysfunction, pressure sore, rest & sleep etc, are also introduced. This course contains both lecture and hand-on practice. 

課程目標
After the course finished, the students will be able to
1) choose appropriate evaluation tools based on client’s needs, contextual factors and psychometric properties & administer evaluation procedures for each BADL, IADL areas & architectural barriers
2) explain the results of the evaluation and understand the possible factors that contributing to measurement errors
3) understand components of each areas of BADL & IADL, know when and how to employ compensatory strategies (i.e. adaptive skills, assistive devices, environmental modification etc)
4) understand how bowel and bladder dysfunction as well as pressure sore happened, and OT roles in intervening those problems
